American Queen + The Great Delta: A Partnership For Eco Friendly Pre-Cruise Excursions
The Great Delta Tours has officially launched our 2019 pre-cruise tours for the American Queen Steamboat Company! We’ll be providing eco excursions for their boat trips docking in New Orleans, and look forward to many more trips like our recent inaugural venture out.
On our tour last week, guests were treated to a special dish of an authentic Islenos meal of Caldo soup, Spanish chicken and rice, and a festive Mardi Gras Randazzo king cake.
We then paid a visit to the Créole cottages built for the Islenos by the the Spanish government of Governor Bernardo de Galvez, who were recruited to stop the westward expansion of the British in 1778. Our guests also had the chance to speak with Don Robin, an Islenos oyster fisherman, about harvesting of oysters in LA oyster capital.
What a fun ride this was! We look forward to many more group excursions and experiences like no other, along with the American Queen.
