World Class Coastal Restoration:
Visit the 40 Arpent Canal, where a $300,000 grant to improve dredging project that removed invasive species also made way for 30,500 linear feet of earthen terraces to create wildlife habitat and protect existing vegetation. You’ll see as this revived habitat of 200 acres of marshland begins to take shape and even witness where bald cypress saplings are planted to further return this place to its former splendor.
Bayou Bienvenue:
Board a pontoon boat at Beyond the French Quarter Tours to explore the beautiful 30,000-acre Central Wetlands and “Golden Triangle” Marsh that provide important habitat for wildlife and marine life, as well as critical protection from hurricanes and storm surge.
